Quarterly Report

In-Person Visit: Any visit in which you get together with your elder friend, either at their home, or elsewhere, that does not include a direct service.

Phone Visit: Any time you call your friend and talk with them about something. Does not include very brief calls made for the sole purpose of confirming your next visit.

Direct Service: Any visit that includes a direct service (i.e., household chores, and errands). If you do something for your friend on your own, count the next visit as a direct service visit. (i.e., If you pick up groceries on the way there)

Ruth and Karen developed a great friendship over the course of the 3 years that they visited. Karen regularly helped Ruth get to luncheons, hair appointments and other events at the local senior center and invited her to help deliver meals to homebound seniors for Meals on Wheels. Although Karen is no longer an "official" ElderFriends volunteer, they continue to visit on their own time and Karen and her family consider Ruth to be like a family member.
